We firmly believe that every dog should be physically and mentally capable of doing what they were originally bred to do. By prioritizing moderate build and correct structure, we produce dogs that are agile, athletic, and built for longevity. Whether in the field, show ring, obedience ring, or at home on the couch, our dogs represent true versatility.
About me
With nearly three decades of hands-on experience working professionally with dogs, my life has been dedicated to canine health, structure, and performance. My journey encompasses professional grooming, behavior training, serving as an AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) evaluator, and judging hunt tests.
After spending twenty rewarding years deeply involved in Australian Shepherds, my focus transitioned to breeding and working with Labradors. At CoalRun Retrievers, that extensive background guides every decision—raising sound, versatile retrievers built to excel equally in the field, show ring, and home.
We just lost our last Australian Shepherd, the nearly perfect Jackson, in June of 2025.
Health, temperament, and versatility
Health testing and rock-solid temperament stand at the forefront of CoalRun Retrievers. We meticulously screen our breeding stock to ensure puppies have the best foundation for a long, vibrant life. Our dogs are raised to thrive wherever life takes them—from active family companions and hunt test competitors to performance sports.
